Cheese is one of the hardest animal products to ditch because of its super addictive properties! Milk, the core component of cheese contains casein, which triggers dopamine production in your brain, which is an organic chemical that gives cheese its addictive notoriety!

Ditching cheese was tough 10 years ago because the vegan cheeses available were… well, not great, to say the least! Luckily for us, we’re now spoiled for choice and have dozens of amazing plant-based cheeses available to us! 

Here are some of the best plant-based cheeses available in Thailand:

LOCAL BRANDS

Barefood Cheese

Barefood Bangkok offers a selection of plant-based nut cheeses. Great for cheese lovers. Think brie and camembert style artisanal cheese. 

Great for: Cheese boards and burgers

Swees offer a selection of vegan cheese made from local and organic soy beans and cashew nuts. 

Great for: Pizzas and cheese melts!

Vegan Gift offer a selection of soft nut cheeses, cheese spreads and cheese sauces.

Great for: Bagels and crackers

Whisked Away (although not a completely vegan brand) sell a selection of nut-free and soy-free vegan cheese blocks and a vegan cheese fondue!

Great for: Grilled Cheese

Imperial is a non-vegan cheese brand, BUT they have one cheese in their range that is 100% plant-based. 

Great for: Burgers & Sandwiches

Wild Grains Bakery offer a selection of cultured vegan cheese blocks and cream cheeses. 

Great for: Cheese boards

Green & Sunny are a vegan ready meal brand that also sell a vegan cashew nut cheese! 

Great for: Cheese sticks and pizzas

Veganerie Parmesan

Veganerie World online vegan store sell home brand vegan parmesan seasoning. 

Great for: Sprinkling on top of pasta

One of the world’s most well-known vegan cheeses, Daiya is available in blocks and shreds here in Thailands.
